Senior Iran official: 'Backing resistance is a necessity'




Leaderˈs Adviser on International Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati spotlighted the necessity of supporting resistance and Palestinian nations.




Giving speech the 1st international Conference of Islamic World Scholars in Defense of Palestine Resistance, Leaderˈs Adviser on International Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati said "is it necessity for the Islamic Ummah to support resistance,".



Velayati appreciated the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought for mounting and organizing the event and stressed, "the attempts of regime of Zionism aim at monopoly on the world Arabian and Islamic countries, terminating the issue of Palestine in the long run".





"Palestinian issue should be resolved in a democratic manner," Supreme Leaderˈs Adviser underscored.



In another line of his remarks, Velayati went on to add, "The term "Apartheid" cannot define the Zionist regime's oppressive behavior towards Palestinians."





He noted that Muslims should be united and do their best to arm the Palestinian resistance groups both in Gaza Strip and West Bank.



"The Zionist regime is an illegal entity and Palestinians should decide their governing system in a democratic way," Velayati noted.
