Iraqi forces liberate 14 villages in al-Baghdadi area

On Thursday, the commander of al-Baghdadi police regiment announced the liberation of 14 villages in western Ramadi after fierce clashes with ISIS militants.


Col. Barzan al-Abidi, commander of al-Baghdadi police regiment, stated for IraqiNews, “This morning, Iraqi security forces consisting of elements of the army and the police backed with armed volunteers from al-Abid clan have managed to liberate 14 villages in al-Baghdadi Island and Jabah area, located 90 km south of al-Ramadi.”


“The security forces have killed dozens of ISIS fighters to gain control over the whole area as advancing on ISIS positions in al-Baghdadi Island and Jabah area with support from the international coalition,” Abidi added.
